Alarm Notifications
How alarm triggers generate notifications and alerts
When an alarm rule triggers, it automatically creates a platform notification to alert relevant users.
What's Included
Each alarm notification contains:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Alarm name | The rule that was triggered |
| Severity | INFO, WARNING, or CRITICAL |
| Device | The device whose telemetry triggered the alarm |
| Field & Value | The telemetry field and value that crossed the threshold |
| Timestamp | When the alarm was triggered |
Delivery
- The backend creates a notification record in the database
- The notification is broadcast via WebSocket to the user's browser session
- The bell icon badge in the navigation bar updates in real-time
- The notification appears in the dropdown and the Notification Center
Who Receives Notifications
- ADMIN - Receives all alarm notifications within the tenant
- ENGINEER - Receives all alarm notifications within the tenant
- USER - Receives notifications for alarms related to their assigned dashboards
External Delivery Channels
Beyond in-app notifications, an alarm rule can call an integration as an action to deliver alerts to Slack, Telegram, or an HTTP webhook. See Triggering Integrations from Alarms.
