Understand the three user roles in Sensorclouds and what each role can do
Sensorclouds uses role-based access control with three user-facing roles. Each role has a specific layout and set of permissions.
Role Summary
| Role | Scope | Layout | Key Capabilities |

| ADMIN | Tenant-wide | Tenant Layout (/tenant-admin/) | Full CRUD on all tenant resources, user management |
| ENGINEER | Own/assigned resources | Tenant Layout (/tenant-admin/) | Manage users, own/assigned apps and devices, cannot delete or manage tenant |
| USER | Assigned resources | User Layout (/crew/) | View assigned dashboards and notifications |
Choosing the Right Role
- Tenant Admin: Organization managers with full control over their tenant's resources
- Engineer: Technical team members who can manage users and work with own/assigned resources, no delete or tenant management permissions
- Crew / User: End-users who monitor dashboards and receive notifications
